A dynamic rhythm-based music experience inspired by global traditions

Be a part of Steel Drum + World Rhythms Camp, a lively and engaging week of music-making for students ages 9–14. This camp invites campers to explore rhythm, movement, and ensemble playing through music from the Caribbean and beyond.

Throughout the week, students learn about steel drums, a vibrant and fascinating instrument originating in Trinidad, and come together as a steel band. Through listening, drumming, singing, and ensemble work, campers study a variety of musical styles while developing rhythmic awareness, coordination, and musical confidence. In addition to steel drum instruction, students are introduced to world rhythms, making this a rich and playful week of musical exploration.

No prior music experience is required. Campers of all backgrounds are welcome to jump in, try something new, and discover the joy of making music together. The week culminates in a final performance where students share what they’ve learned with family and friends.

Steel Drum + World Rhythms Camp is perfect for students who enjoy rhythm, movement, and hands-on music-making, and who are excited to explore music from around the world in a fun, supportive setting.
