Rhythm Kids® (ages 4-8)

Developed by the internationally recognized Music Together® program, Rhythm Kids® is a comprehensive music, movement, and drumming program that helps children complete the pathway of early childhood music development. Classes are fun and engaging, designed to help children develop rhythm skills and gain a deeper level of musical understanding, preparing them for private lessons or more formal music instruction. **New** We are thrilled to partner with the Middlebury Dance Centre to host Rhythm Kids® classes this year! The Middlebury Dance Centre is conveniently located on the second floor at 14 Seminary Street in Middlebury. Parking is available behind the Middlebury Coop or on the street.
2026-27 Class Schedule (All classes are 45 minutes in length)

Wednesday, Sept. 23 - Nov. 18 at 3:30 pm
WINTER SESSION [9 classes]:
Wednesdays, Jan. 20 - Mar. 24 at 3:30 pm [no class 2/24]
SPRING SESSION [8 classes]:
Wednesdays, Apr. 7 - Jun. 2 at 3:30 pm [no class 4/21]

Financial aid is available for all MCMC programs, please view the information here. If you need to withdraw from a class, please be in touch with info@mcmcvt.org as soon as possible. Your tuition will be refunded in full up until two days prior to the start of class. There will be no refunds for cancellations once the class starts.

Many times I need a piano student to sing/hum a tune so that we can isolate the melody and discuss rhythm or articulation. I can tell right away if a student has participated in a Music Together® or Rhythm Kids® class because they are not afraid to isolate that melody and it seems quite natural for them to do that. However, students who haven’t practiced that skill in a Music Together® or Rhythm Kids® in general feel very self-conscious or struggle to find the notes they want within their own bodies. I love that our Early Childhood Music Program is equipping students to recognize that they THEMSELVES are the music makers, and not their instruments and to be confident in their music-making abilities! — MCMC piano faculty
