MCMC’s Community String Ensembles is a tuition free program that facilitates intergenerational chamber music for string players of all ages and levels. Community members are placed in small ensembles of similar playing ability to work together to explore chamber music on Friday afternoons. This program is led by violinist and MCMC faculty member Emily Sunderman. Assisting coaches involved in the program are advanced High School and College students, many of whom have participated in the program since they were beginning students. Suzuki Twinklers and Book 1 students form a Suzuki Group class ensemble while seasoned players explore chamber works composed in the 14th C to the present day. The group breaks for snacks and plays with and for each other for the last half hour of class. MCMC partners with local venues such as Town Hall Theater for final performances for friends and families.

A generous gift supports this program.
