A  chamber music camp for young musicians.

Chamber Music Camp (formerly known as Camp Adagio) is a chamber music camp for students ages 12 – 18. The ensembles, which consist of 3 – 5 members, are made up of students with similar proficiency levels. Students who play the following instruments are eligible for the camp: Strings: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass; Woodwinds: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Basson, Bass Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Sax, Baritone Sax; Brass: French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba. Pianists will be considered by audition and skill level.

The focus of the camp is to promote independent musicians. In rehearsals, the music faculty will guide the students on how to independently rehearse. In the general sessions the faculty will guide the students through the fundamentals of tone production, rhythmic understanding, intonation and listening. The students' daily schedule consists of rehearsals with and without coaching as well as two general sessions that concentrate on fundamentals.

Minimum requirements: A basic understanding of scales and a basic understanding of reading music.

Please note: If you are a returning camper, you do not need to audition for camp. If this is your first year in this camp, we ask that you audition. Students younger than 12 will be considered by audition and a letter of recommendation from their private teacher. Audition materials are below
